Biography
Chenzhuo Li (李陈卓) is a Ph.D. candidate at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Flying Vehicle Propulsion Engineering in 2018 from Beihang University, Beijing. After 2 years of research in digital image correlation with Prof. Pan, he joined Prof. Kolinski’s group (Engineering Mechanics of Soft Interfaces) at EPFL, studying fracture mechanics of hydrogels.

Research Assistant
- Investigated macroscale fluorescent DIC and its related applications
- Conducted high-throught characterization of thermal/mechanical properites of bulk materials
- Improved the DGS speckle target using backlight technique
- Developed an ultrasensitive video extensometer
- Developed a microscopic single-camera 3D-DIC system
- Assessed the drift error and distortion between slices obtained from LSCM
- Performed SEM-DIC and analyzed the factors affecting the SEM image quality

- Assisted the experiment of the Chang’e-4 Lunar Biosphere Mini-Ecosystem
- Collected experimental data and monitored the health of the mini-ecosystem
- Performed analysis and troubleshooting on the acquired data

- Generated 3D model of closed-cell porous materials with spherical or polyhedral pores
- Performed FEA using ABAQUS and investigated the effective bulk modulus of porous materials with porosity from 0 to 99%

Recent Posts
A new speckle pattern fabrication method is proposed in this paper, by using an off-the-shelf handheld inkjet printer. By printing, the speckle pattern quality will no longer depend heavily on the operator. A good quality control is achieved. This method can be used for both fluorescent and classic speckles preparation. The former, published on APL 2020, has distinguish advantages and we highly recommend for general use.
